The new face of Northbridge

Central TAFE is currently undertaking a major capital works project that will create a new training precinct in the heart of the City for more than 26,000 students.

The redevelopment will consolidate training in the key areas of resource development, creative industries, community services, and science based disciplines.

The completion of the $8.2 million Newcastle Street print and jewellery facility, officially opened by Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard, marks the conclusion of the first stage of the redevelopment.

The centrepiece of the new inner city training precinct is a $59.5 million facility located at 30 Aberdeen Street, due to be completed in 2010, which will link other College buildings in the area, as well as promoting stronger ties with the Northbridge business community.

This is an unprecedented investment in Central TAFE’s training capability and will better equip the College to meet the requirement of tomorrow’s workplaces.
